Aliens: Colonial Marines delayed until Fall 2012 after all
Yesterday it was discovered by AVP Galaxy that Gearbox's upcoming shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines was pushed back until Fall 2012. However, shortly after, both the UK and US version of the Aliens: Colonial Marines site reverted back to a Spring 2012 date, leaving many fans confused as to when the correct date was.
As it turns out, the change was official and Aliens: Colonial Marines is, in fact, being moved to Fall 2012. Today, Gearbox confirmed the change with a brand new trailer.
Speaking to Game Informer, SEGA confirmed the need for more development time as the primary reason for the delay.
Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line. While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective. We don’t want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blue print. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blue print because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritizing this goal over the previously targeted date.
