Alan Kertz Reponds to Battlefield 3 Getting Snubbed in VGA Awards for Best Graphics

It must have come to a shock to the developers and fans of Battlefield 3 when Spike TV announced the nominees for the VGA Awards Best Graphics and BF3 was missing.  The game has garnered much attention for it's new Frostbite 2 game engine, which I think we can all agree looks simply marvelous.

Don't get me wrong, the other games deserve to be there as well.  Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is like playing a movie, L.A. Noire has introduced innovative technology with facial recognition that could change the gaming industry forever, and while Batman: Arkham City and RAGE look great, do they really outperform Battlefield 3 in the graphics department?

Just look at the video below and tell me that Battlefield 3's graphics isn't impressive.

Apparently the folks on the VGA panel think so.  With any category, you're going to have nominees that are snubbed, especially given the abundance of blockbuster titles we've seen this year.  It's just unfortunate that a game like Battlefield 3 was snubbed from a category they so rightfully belong in.

So how did the Core Gameplay Designer for Battlefield 3 Alan Kertz respond to the snub?

"Seriously, BF3 isn't nominated for best graphics? *boggle*"

Really, there's not much else he could say.  It is completely mind-boggling that a game as impressive looking as Battlefield 3 was left off of the list.  This is just further proof that the VGA Awards can't be taken seriously.
