Activision makes then retracts statement regarding Destiny’s timed PlayStation-exclusive content

As most of you are probably aware by now, the PlayStation versions of Destiny are getting exclusive content. However, last week it was revealed by both an Amazon and PlayStation Store listing of the game that Sony had "timed exclusivity" on the extra content. Amazon event got into specifics, saying it would be a "timed exclusive until at least Fall 2015."

It wasn't until today that Activision confirmed to Eurogamer that Destiny's PlayStation-exclusive content will remain exclusive until "fall 2015." And then, the publisher reportedly contacted the website again to retract the comments, insisting that, "for now, [Activision] has yet to formally announce any details regarding the Destiny content's timed exclusivity."

As revealed last weekDestiny's exclusive content coming to both PS4 and PS3 includes an extra three-player cooperative Strike, an additional competitive multiplayer map, and various gear and weapons.

Destiny is due out for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 on September 9, 2014. Bungie just wrapped up their First Look Alpha for PS4, and looking ahead to July 17 PS4 and PS3 owners who pre-ordered the game can jump into the beta phase.
