BLUE BYTE SOFTWARE ISSUES CALL FOR BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR ONLINE BETA TESTERS

Austin, TX, May 30, 2000-Blue Byte Software Inc., today announced that it will be conducting extensive online beta testing for the fifth installment in the Battle Isle series, Battle Isle: The Andosia War commencing beginning June 13th 2000. Over 2000 strategy game fans will not only have the opportunity to get to know the game in an early phase of development, but also to have a decisive impact on its final shape.

The beta test will almost entirely be conducted over the Internet. The software will be transferred to the beta testers who will then play the game exclusively in online multiplayer mode. Suggested improvements and error reports can then be relayed online to Blue Byte. As with the Online Update System for The Settlers III, the software on the computers of the beta testers will be automatically updated each time they log in.

Blue Byte Software has also announced the partners involved with the beta test: Gamespot (France, UK, USA & Germany), Gamestar, GA-Strategy, PC Gamer UK and Voodoo Extreme. Battle Isle: The Andosia War is an entirely new kind of 'conflict simulation', combining elements of real-time and turn-based strategy in an action-packed mixture. The Andosia War is scheduled for release Q3, 2000 on PC CD-ROM.
