PGA CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF(tm) 2000 GOES GOLD Sierra Sports(tm) Prepares to Ship New Golf Simulation and "Hook" Players on Improved Features
BELLEVUE, WA (May 9, 2000) -- Sierra Sports(tm) today announced that PGA Championship Golf (tm) 2000, developed by Headgate Studios for the PC, has gone gold and will land on retail shelves around the end of May, 2000. PGA Championship Golf 2000 is the first golf simulation to offer both complete Season and Career tour-style experiences while improving upon TrueSwing(tm) 3, the best real-time "smart" swing control feature offered in the game genre.
"We are in our third generation with PGA Championship Golf 2000. In this new version, we've listened carefully to our core audience, and implemented the features and key improvements they wanted most," said Mike Jacob, senior producer for Sierra Sports. "This product is a response to what our customers asked for... plain and simple. Everyone involved in making this game - from development to marketing - are avid golfers who live to bring the best and most comprehensive computer golf experience to enthusiasts and casual players alike. When we say 'By Golfers, For Golfers,' we really mean it."
"We are excited about this release of PGA Championship Golf because of the elaborate season and career mode, new libraries for and improvements to the Course Architect, and changes to TrueSwing that make it parallel a real golf swing," said Vance Cook, president and founder of Headgate Studios. "We've added some great new features, but the rest of the game also received a great deal of polish."
In PGA Championship Golf 2000, Season and Career models accurately recreate the experience of professional tour play. Players can now create extensive tours and season events, detailed down to who makes the cut, while tracking careers and earnings on an on-going basis. The product line's signature TrueSwing 3 "smart" swing feature has been enhanced with better pace and tempo for realistic feel, control and intuitiveness unmatched in computer golf. Casual rounds will now become a little more exciting with the addition of popular side games such as Nassau, Greenies and Sandies. Other enhancements to PGA Championship Golf 2000 include the addition of five new courses and improvements to the Course Architect, ball physics, golfer models, golf course graphics and in-game camera views.
