Epic Games Announces Bonus Pack For Hit PC Game Unreal Tournament

Available for Free at http://unreal.epicgames.com, Bonus Pack Includes New Characters, Levels and the Unreal Debut of Relics

Raleigh, NC February 24, 2000: Epic Games today announced the availability of the Unreal Tournament bonus pack. Available at http://unreal.epicgames.com, the free bonus pack adds levels, characters and relics to the PC title that Computer Gaming World named 1999's Game of the Year.

"This bonus pack gives us an opportunity to thank our fans with some extremely fun additions and new surprises," said Unreal Tournament Lead Game Designer Cliff Bleszinski. "We wanted to continue to support our online community as well as offer up more of what players having been asking for."

New Characters:

The bonus pack includes three characters, including the return of old favorites from the original Unreal:

Skaarj Hybird: The result of secret military genetic research using both human and Skaarj DNA performed after the capture of a Skaarj scout ship.

Nali: A newly formed Nali faction that has repented their pacifist ways and is ready to prove their combat skills in the Tournament.

Nali Warcow: The only domesticated beast of the militant Nali, these cattle are trained to fight instead of lactate.

New Levels:

Epic took at look at what levels people were enjoying online and found that most gamers played Deathmatch and Capture The Flag. Among the eleven new Deathmatch and Capture The Flag levels are the Deathmatch-Mojo, a hardcore twisty castle corridor deathmatch, and the Capture the Flag - Hydro 16, a top-notch "two bases" industrial-style map.

Relics:

New to the Unreal Universe are the Relics. Added into the game like mutators, you can add as many or as few as you want, but can only carry one at a time.

Relic of Strength: Shaped like an axe, this relic doubles any damage that you do.

Relic of Regeneration: Shaped like a cross, this relic gives you ten health every two seconds up to 150.

Relic of Defense: Shaped like a helmet, this relic reduces all damage by half after armor.

Relic of Speed: Shaped like a hourglass, this relic increases ground speed, water speed, air speed, and acceleration by 30%.

Relic of Redemption: Shaped like a spike disc, this relic gives you a second chance by bringing you back with all your inventory after suffering a fatal blow.

Relic of Vengeance: Shaped like a grinning skull, this skull kills after you've been killed. 1.5 seconds after death this relic will appear above your corpse and annihilate anyone in the area, including the guy who had the nerve to kill you in the first place.
