Metro Redux coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC this summer

4A Games and Deep Silver have officially announced Metro Redux, a next-gen bundle of fully-remastered and improved versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light.

While both games will be available in the Metro Redux bundle for $49.99, they will also be sold separately as digital downloads for Xbox One, PS4, and PC; although, they'll be priced a bit more expensive at $24.99 each. Metro Redux is more than just an HD upgrade. It features never-before-seen content and new gameplay features, while running at 60 frames per second. 1080p has been confirmed for PS4, but we've yet to hear resolution for Xbox One.

Getting into specifics, Metro 2033 has been completely rebuilt using the 4A Engine, the same engine that powered the newer Metro: Last Light. Improved gameplay includes "advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling, more responsive controls, and signature features from Last Light," like the atmospheric mask wipe mechanic, weapon customization, and silent kills and takedowns. It also boasts "advanced lighting, dynamic weather, more detailed characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction and improved smoke, fire and particle effects."

Metro: Last Light Redux has also received a graphical facelift, new melee animations, and the fan-requested "Check Watch" and "Check Inventory" features. All previously released Season Pass add-on content is also included, adding an additional 10 hours of single-player gameplay.

And lastly, Metro Redux offers two different gameplay modes that cater to your playstyle. If you prefer survival horror, you can play both campaigns in the Survival playstyle, "a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds." For those who prefer more action, you can play the Spartan playstyle which provides Artyom with "a powerful set of combat skilla nd more plentiful resources." There's also the Ranger Mode which removes the HUD and applies hardcore rules.

Metro Redux is expected to release this summer.
