It looks like Netflix won't be stuck behind the Xbox Live paywall for much longer

From the "it's about damn time" derpartment, Ars Technica is reporting that Microsoft will be allowing non-Xbox Live Gold members to use streaming services such as Netflix. This would put Xbox Live on par with the PlayStation Network, which only recently begun charing gamers to play online multiplayer.

This is a move that would not only be welcomed by gamers, but also considered long overdue. It was widely rumored that such an announcement would be made at last year's E3 to help hype the upcoming Xbox One console.

In order to compenstate, Ars Technica also reported that "other services" may be placed behind the Xbox Live Gold paywall, though they weren't mentioned.

We should learn more about any and all changes to Xbox Live features at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
