E3 2014 Watch: Microsoft files for 'Eden Falls' trademark

Sony isn't the only one seemingly gearing up for June's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), as Microsoft has filed a trademark application for "Eden Falls."

Spotted by the eagle-eyed folks at NeoGAF, Microsoft filed for the trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on April 16. Unfortunately, the application doesn't reveal too much information, other than the fact that it's a trademark for "entertainment services, namely providing an online computer game."

A blog for an Eden Falls game describes it as a "science fiction themed role-playing game, featuring deeply tactical turn-based combat and an exciting story of epic proportions" that will "be published episodically." What's odd is that the blog claims the game is being developed by Finland-based indie studio Brimstone Interactive, while an Eden Falls Twitter account lists Lift London, a Microsoft studio known for making mobile games, as the developer.

Assuming this is a new game, it's likely Microsoft formally announce it at E3. We may hear of a few more leaks before then, but I'd keep an eye on E3 for more official information.
