Daylight delayed until end of April

Zombie Studios' psychological horror game Daylight has been delayed, IGN reported earlier today. The reason? To make it scarier.

"The way Daylight is developed is completely different because of its procedural generation," Atlus, the game's publisher, explained. "In a lot of ways it really helped the team by streamlining the environment creation, but it's taken extra time to make sure all the scare cues are properly implemented for maximum player effect."

Originally due out April 8Daylight will now release for PC and PS4 on April 29. To make up for the delay, Atlus will offer a limited time discount. Starting on April 29 for two weeks, PS Plus subscribers will be able to purchase Daylight for just $9.99, while regular PlayStation owners will be able to get it for $11.99 -- still cheaper than its standard price. PC gamers who pre-order the game between now and April 29, will also be able to get it for $9.99. Once the promotional period ends, Daylight will go back to its original $14.99 asking price.

As Atlus explained, Daylight features a procedurally generated landscape, meaning no two playthroughs will be the same. Each time you play the game the hospital will have a different layout and unique scares, making for a terrifying experience each time you play the game. Adding to the horror on PS4 is the ability to have viewers -- should you choose to stream your gameplay -- affect your game with "scare" commands.
