Alien: Isolation release date revealed

Creative Assembly, the studio developing the upcoming sci-fi survival horror game Alien: Isolation, has announced at EGX Rezzed 2014 in the United Kingdom that the game will launch on October 7, 2014.

Like the first Alien movie starring Sigourney Weaver and directed by Ridley Scott, Alien: Isolation will only feature one xenomorph. One very large xenomorph that will stalk the player, who's playing as Ellen Ripley's daughter, Amanda Ripley. Amanda is working for Weyland-Yutani, the famed corporation from the movie franchise, and she arrives on the remote station Sevastopol trying to recover the flight recorder of the Nostromo. If you recall correctly, the Nostromo was the ship from the first Alien movie.

Seeing as how there's only one xenomorph and that the game is a survival horror game, Creative Assembly has repeatedly said that the player will never be armed with an assault rifle, or even better, the famed Pulse Rifle. You'll also never face off against multiple xenomorphs. There's just one. That's the way it should be. This isn't a straight up first-person shooter/action game. Get over it.

Alien: Isolation release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
