Xbox LIVE could reward members for good behavior

Looking to encourage better behavior on Xbox LIVE, Microsoft is looking into alternative strategies aside from simply punishing the rotten apples. One of the ideas includes a system that will reward well-behaved Xbox LIVE users who contribute positively to the online Xbox experience.

Microsoft development lead Frank Savage revealed Microsoft's plan during a talk at GDC 2014 aimed at ID@Xbox developers. Rather than just punishing players for poor behavior, Microsoft will "actively encourage them to be better" with a reward system that appears to be linked with Xbox LIVE's Reputation system. If you have good reputation and "you're this amazing player that everyone wants to be with," Savage explained, then Xbox LIVE's reputation algorithm may recognize that and reward you.

It's Microsoft's way of saying, "Thanks for being such a good member of the community, here's a reward," he said. Microsoft hasn't revealed what the rewards will be, but I'm thinking priority access to betas or maybe a free month of Xbox LIVE would be a good starting point.
