Reports of PSN login issues, disappearing friend lists still rolling in as Sony investigates
As of yesterday, Ask PlayStation, the official Twitter support for PSN and all PlayStation platforms, acknowledged the problems while issuing the following statement:
We're currently investigating reports of connectivity and Friends List issues. Thanks for your continued patience.— Ask PlayStation (@AskPlayStation) December 26, 2013
The message mimics that of the one posted to the PlayStation forums. Neither offer a clear explanation or a timetable for when PlayStation owners can expect full PSN functionality. With no comment from Sony today (as of this writing), it can be assumed that they are still working on a solution to the problems. As always, we'll be sure to keep you updated with any announcements that Sony may make about the issue.

On a side note, Sony isn't alone in its struggles. Nintendo is also have its share of online service problems. Following high traffic, many of its online services have been problematic for 3DS and Wii U owners. As a result, Nintendo has delayed the release of the Pokémon Bank app and will temporarily disable the eShop later today.
