Prepping for Friday's launch of the PlayStation 4 in Europe, Sony and GAME have confirmed that there will be a number of PS4 consoles available to purchase at the midnight launch event in London's Covent Garden. Those of you who missed out on your PS4 pre-order, this could be your last chance to get one at launch — or even before Christmas.
"Day one PS4 pre-orders sold out in record time and this could be the last chance for anyone who wants to get their hands on a console before Christmas," said Fergal Gara, MD and VP, Sony Computer Entertainment UK & Ireland.
Similar to the U.S. launch, in which a few consoles were also sold at the NYC event, the one in London will be a first come, first served basis. Queing for the launch event will begin Thursday morning and those in attendance will also be treated to an exclusive performance by Tinie Tempah.
"We really wanted to offer some way for people to buy on launch day, and this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that hasn't already pre-ordered to get their hands on a PS4 on day one," Gara added. "The excitement in the run up to our UK launch has been phenomenal, and we want to thank gamers for their support by giving them the chance to take a PS4 home at the earliest opportunity."
The PlayStation 4 released on November 15 in North America where it went on to sell over million consoles in the first 24 hours.
