Sony 'actively working' to ensure a 'strong Vita library'

Sony finally showed its commitment to the PlayStation Vita at Gamescom, breathing new life into the struggling handheld by not only announcing a price cut, but also a variety of unique and innovative games. Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Borderlands 2, Thomas Was Alone, Hotline Miami 2, and Volume were just a few of the games announced that will bolster the Vita's lineup. And looking ahead, Sony wants to continue this sort of support.

"Right now, we are very actively working with partners to ensure that there's a strong Vita library going forward," said Mark Cerny, the PS4's lead system architect.

"The teams that do Vita titles do tend to be different from the teams that do PlayStation 4 titles," he added. "I think that plays into software support of the respective platforms. And right now, Vita is selling very well in Japan."

Hopefully, the success of the Vita in Japan translates overseas to the U.S. where the Vita is now being sold for $199.99. As the saying goes: "Give it games, and they will come." Or something like that...
