Justin Chavarria of Eugene, Oregon was crowned the champion of this year's MLB 2K13 Perfect Game Challenge. He was one of four finalists who competed in the single-elimination tournament at the T-Mobile All-Star FanFest in New York City, and went on to win the $250,000 grand prize.

2K called this year's Perfect Game Challenge "the most competitive in 2K's history." More than 785,000 perfect game attempts were recorded, and more than 2,500 perfect games were verified. This was an increase of 23% in unique perfect games thrown and 84% in verified perfect games year-over-year from MLB 2K13.

“This has been a life-changing experience over the last four months,” said Chavarria, who defeated Brad Holland of Garland, Texas, using the Texas Rangersto win 3-1 over the Oakland A’s. “I had a great time competing against the other three finalists during the tournament, and this is a day I’ll never forget.”
