Can't say that I didn't see this one coming. When it comes to new game consoles, we've come to expect price gouging. You hear about it all the time -- someone waits in line, picks up their system, and then resells it on Amazon or Ebay for maybe a few hundred bucks higher than the normal retail price. It's capitalism at its finest.

Now, I've seen some drastic price hikes, but this one may top them all.

Ebay user gvg-sales is trying to hit the motherload, selling his PlayStation 4 Battlefield 4 Launch Day bundle for a whopping "Buy it now" price of $20,000. The seller has listed it as a "charitable auction" in which 50% of the proceeds will be donated to a "qualified tax-exempt organization." He even tries to sweet the deal by attempting to explain how this is "extremely beneficial for both parties."

"First and foremost, you are getting a sold out PS4 when it releases," the seller smooth talks. "ALSO you will have an extremely nice tax write off that will save you money at the end of the year AND a charity will have much needed funds especially in these tough economic times."

For those of you in school, this is a basic lesson in supply and demand. When supply is short and demand is high, expect to pay more for the item. The problem is you can still pre-order the PS4 at a number of retailers. But hey, if you want to donate $10,000 to a charity and give some sleezy guy another $10,000, who am I to say don't do it?
