E3 2013: Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy’s The Division for PS4 and Xbox One

One last announcement before Ubisoft ended their E3 2013 press conference was a new title for next-gen consoles. That game was Tom Clancy's The Division. It was very disturbing, talking about a pandemic that starts on Black Friday and spreads fast on money, toys, you name it.

Hospitals become filled, the stock market crashes, power goes out, and people turn on each other, all by Day 5 after patient zero is admitted. Our complex world is prime for breakdown, and once resources run out, what will it take to save what remains?

F*ck me.

Massive Entertainment is developing the game, which then went into gameplay.

Set in New York a few weeks after the pandemic happened, all is in chaos. It's a third-person shooter, but it looks so unbelievable that I thought the gameplay was live-action. The gameplay showed that of the government agent you'll be playing as.. Players were communicating with each other — oh yea, it's multiplayer — as they moved toward their destination. Combat is cover-based, as they moved from car to car while enemies laid down fire. Then, one of the players provided help via a drone. Then the guy that was controlling the drone had to leave, so he bid farewell to his friends and went along his way.

So drop-in, drop-out multiplayer.

Toward the end of the gameplay, the team encountered another group of players, but they were against them.

Tom Clancy's The Division is an online multiplayer RPG that's coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
