NewsMetro: Last Light has gone gold
Weeks from release, Deep Silver announced today that Metro: Last Light has gone gold. The discs are now rolling off the assembly line, into boxes and onto trucks to release in stores on May 14. The FPS sequel to Metro 2033 will be available for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
In Last Light, the year is 2034, and a nuclear war has turned the world into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. The game takes place in Moscow, where the tunnels of the Metro are home to the former inhabitants of the city. They fight for their survival against hordes of mutants born from the toxic atmosphere, as well as opposing factions that want control of the hospitable land. There's also a doomsday device -- as if the world hadn't gone through enough doom already -- that could be the key to victory. As Artyom, you will be the last light for all of mankind.
With the Limited Edition of Metro: Last Light comes the Ranger Mode DLC. It offers the ultimate challenge to veterans of the Metro series, complete with a HUD-free display, deadlier combat and dramatically limited resources. Ranger Mode also includes the Russian AKSU rifle and an additional 100 military grade rounds to customize your starting loadout.
