NewsGo behind the scenes of the most authentic Star Trek game ever created
Namco Bandai Games released a new video today that gives a behind the scenes look at the authenticity in Star Trek, the video game that releases on April 23, 2013. It is an all-original story that takes place after the events of the 2009 film, and in the same J.J. Abrams universe.
Brian Miller, senior vice president of Paramount Pictures, said that their goal from day one was to make the most authentic Star Trek game that had ever been created. To achieve that, they worked with people who worked on the film -- from the art department to the sound design team. The results? Star Trek features the same effects and sounds that can be seen in the film. This includes composer Michael Giacchino and his orchestra that did the music for the films.
For the voice acting, they traveled around the world to where each of the actors were located to get their voice work for the game. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg -- they're all in it, and Miller says "the actors brought it to a level that really felt authentic."
Check out the full video below.
As I said, the game releases April 23, and is available for preorder on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Preorders include the Elite Officer Pack, which has exclusive weapons and uniforms.
