NewsCapcom: Lost Planet 3 delayed for 'business reasons'
Capcom's decision to delay Lost Planet 3 from its original June release to August 27 was due to "business reasons."
Following up with the earlier report in which Lost Planet 3's delay was quietly hidden at the bottom of a massive press release, a statement provided to us by Capcom simply said:
“The release date for Lost Planet 3 has moved for business reasons."
It's a pretty generic response, but at least we can rest easy knowing nothing is majorly wrong with the game's development. Rather than a delay for "extended polishing," the business reasons seem to indicate a busy schedule for Capcom. It certainly makes sense when you look at Capcom's upcoming release schedule.
The publisher already has three other titles releasing in or around June including Resident Evil Revelations at the end of May, and both Remember Me and Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara in June. With an already packed month of June, perhaps Capcom's suits thought it best to spread its releases throughout the summer months. Lost Planet 3 is now due out on August 27 in North America and August 30 in Europe for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
