NewsSkullgirls nears $600,000 on crowdfunding site Indiegogo
The last time we checked, fighting game Skullgirls had raised more than double its target goal of $150,000 on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo with about three weeks to spare. Now it's approaching $600,000.
Roughly 56 hours (a little more than two days) remain for the campaign, which is a huge achievement for the developers at Lab Zero Games, as we learned in our interview with chief executive officer and producer Peter Bartholow. He said the success was both "vindicating and humbling."
Lab Zero started the campaign to fund ongoing support for Skullgirls and to keep the team together. It's hit a number of stretch goals, including those for two new characters: Squigly and Big Band, the first male addition. At $600,000, the developer will guarantee another voice pack and a mystery downloadable-content character decided by fan vote.
