NewsFire Emblem: Awakening getting free content for next 2 months
Fire Emblem: Awakening saw a strong release on 3DS in February, and Nintendo is continuing to support the game more than a month after launch.
The company has been releasing paid downloadable content for Fire Emblem: Awakening along with free extras via the 3DS's SpotPass feature, which enables instant downloads for games as long as the handheld is connected to the Internet. This is different from what's accessible via the "Outrealm Gate" in-game.
That free content will continue through the spring. A new map called “A Hard Miracle” is available today. In it, main character Chrom meets a mysterious woman, and together they set out to save a group of kidnapped villagers.
"Ghost of Blade" will arrive next on March 28, followed by "The Wellspring of Trust" on April 11 and then "The Radiant Hero" on April 25.
Players can also gain other free bonuses, such as weapons, more playable characters, and challengers for the Double Duel multiplayer mode.
