As PlayStation fans are well aware, God of War: Ascension will contain a demo for another highly anticipated PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us. Despite being featured on-disc, clicking to access the demo results in a black and white image of Joel and Ellie along with a countdown clock.

The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog confirmed today that the demo will unlock on May 31, 2013. Anyone who purchases God of War: Ascension will be able to access it. Below is the official tweet, straight from Naughty Dog themselves.

Pre-ordered God of War: Ascension yet? We’re pleased to announce #TheLastofUs demo, accessible early via GOW will be available May 31, 2013.

I've reached out to Naughty Dog to see if the demo will consist of the same portion of gameplay that I recently played at a hands-on preview event. The Last of Us is expected to release on June 14, 2013 after a brief delay.
