NewsXbox 720, we know you're real. Assassin's Creed 4 told us.
The truth is out there... somewhere. We all know Microsoft is busy working on the next Xbox -- call it the Xbox 720, Xbox Durango, Xbox Infinity, or whatever you'd like; we know it's coming. Don't take my word for it, though? Despite the massive amounts of leaks of recent, one needs to look no further than Ubisoft's latest Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag press release to realize the next Xbox is almost upon us.
In typical press release fashion, Ubisoft mentioned the platforms AC4 will run on: Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U, and the most recently announced PlayStation 4. Then it tacks on, "other next generation consoles." It also mentions other next-gen consoles at the end of the reveal trailer. The fact that Ubisoft already mentioned the PlayStation 4 and still felt compelled to add "other next-gen consoles," indicates they aren't done announcing platforms.
Unfortunately, until Microsoft comes out of its cave and formally announces the next Xbox, their hands are tied. Come on, Microsoft. We all know the next Xbox is a thing -- it's time you come clean. Rumor has it they will do just that at an event in April.
