NewsPS4 able to play games as they're being downloaded
After saying how a secondary custom chip in the PS4 will handle background processing, Mark Cerny -- Lead System Architect -- dropped a PS4 bomb. The PlayStation 4 will allow you to play a game as it is downloading. It was rumored that this would be a feature of Sony's next-gen console, so mark that as one true rumor.
Sony said their long term goal is to "reduce download times of digital games to zero."
In addition to this feature, with the simple press of the power button, you will be able to suspend and resume your gaming session. Pressing the power button puts the console into a low engergy consumption state.
