SimCity beta begins January 25th

I have more friends than fingers that are absolutely dying to play the new SimCity. Often conversations will jump from the complete inane to talks about SimCity. For those who have not registered for the upcoming beta yet, your deadline is quickly approaching. The last sign up day is January 21st.

For those who have signed up, gameplay will begin January 25th at 8am GMT. The beta will go until January 28th. Electronic Arts wants people to swarm the game and provide valuable feedback. Since the game is going live in March, it’s time for those last minute tweaks. There is no better way to get pumped for the game than to play it first hand in a beta.

Lucy Bradshaw, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA’s Maxis Label, had this to say:

“It is always an exciting moment to share a game that is still in development with its biggest fans prior to launch. This beta will help the team improve the live service aspects of SimCity to ensure a smooth and user-friendly experience at launch. I want to thank everyone for signing up - we are excited to share one of our most beloved franchises with our fans.”
