Gearbox is getting ready to release the third add-on campaign for Borderlands 2 next week, but before they do, they are hosting a special in-game event this weekend to help gear you up for the Hunt.

By simply logging in to Borderlands 2 and connecting online, you can begin scavenging various areas of Pandora for an "influx of powerful shotguns". Be sure to look quickly, as Gearbox expects the supply to be exhausted at 10:55AM CST / 4:55PM GMT on Saturday, January 12. 

Fear not though because each day this weekend will bring something new. Check back tomorrow for what other items will be up for grabs.

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt will be released on January 15, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC for 800 Microsoft Points ($9.99), but those with the Borderlands 2 Season Pass will be able to download it for free. It begins with a relaxing hunting expedition, but soon takes a sinister turn as you encounter a new villain. As per usual, it will feature new enemies, new quests, and tons of new loot.
