NewsRumor: Skyrim's next expansion titled 'Redguard'
As if you haven’t “wasted” away hours of your life trudging through the snowy mountains and lush pastures of the Skyrim world already, the game’s next add-on looks to cement this fact. According to a patent filed by Bethesda themselves, “Redguard” looks to be the title of the upcoming expansion – an expansion that looks to be significantly longer than previous DLC installments.
Though the patent features no details as to the contents of the name, Redguard itself has been seen a number of times in The Elder Scrolls series, as it was the title of a 1998 Elder Scrolls adventure game. However, fans may be more acclimated to the name from its original stance in the series: a group of fearless warriors skilled in the art of weapons and armor.
To add validity to the report, the patent was actually sent in for approval back in July of 2011, and has since been updated twice by the patent committee. And if that’s not enough, Bethesda’s Pete Hines tweeted “Sorry, I don't comment on every rumor that comes up,” when pressed with questions regarding the expansion patent.
Though it’s still a rumor, all signs point to Redguard being the next expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skryim, and having been patented for over a year now, it looks to be the largest add-on to date – much to the praise of fans, we’re sure.
