NewsJack Reynor joins Mark Wahlberg in 'Transformers 4'
The question you're probably asking is: "Who is Jack Reynor?" My honest answer is: I'm not sure. I've never heard of the guy before today. I can tell you this, though -- he's about to be thrust into stardom. He's a 6'1 Irish newcomer that hasn't been in a whole lot, with mostly stage productions mentioned in his IMDB biography. Reynor just completed his first studio film, the DreamWorks comedy Delivery Man, starring Vince Vaughn.
Reynor becomes the second male lead to be cast by Michael Bay in the fourth Transformers movie. He joins Michael Bay after beating out Luke Grimes (Brothers and Sister, Taken 2), Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova), Brenton Thwaites (Blue Lagoon: The Awakening), and Hunter Parrish (Weeds).
Michael Bay wrote on his website about Reynor:
I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie WHAT RICHARD DID. This kid is the real deal.
Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net.
This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.
