News343 resolves Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack ban, less than 200 players affected
343 Industries has released a statement assuring fans that the situation in which players who downloaded Halo 4's Crimson Map Pack were later banned has since been resolved. The issue sprung up over night when users began posting about the problem on Halo's official forums, making the problem appear more widespread than it really was.
In an statement issued to Kotaku, Microsoft downplayed the issue, claiming less than 200 players were affected. Here's what the full statement said:
There was a situation yesterday (Sunday) in which less than 200 Halo 4 users were being incorrectly banned from accessing certain parts of the game (not banned from Xbox LIVE as a whole), and we have since resolved the issue. All players accounts impacted are working as normal.
The statement also pointed concerned users to Halo: Waypoint for more information. Glad to see Microsoft and 343 Industries work quickly to resolve the issue.
In other Halo 4 news, yesterday the Infinity Challenge began giving players the opportunity to compete online in War Games and Spartan Ops for a chance to win great prizes. Find out more here.
