NewsThe Hobbit rules them all in the box office
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has done extremely well in the box office. While it may not have won over our hearts as much as we wished it would have, it still managed to be an entertaining movie based on a bunch of dwarves, a hobbit and a wizard.
So how well did The Hobbit do? It managed to rake in about $84.8 million with an additional $138.2 million internationally, and made $13 million from the midnight showings on Friday alone. That means The Hobbit just set a record as the biggest December weekend movie of all time. Congrats!
The rest of the box office earning estimates are as follows:
- The Hobbit $84.8 million
- Rise of the Guardians $7.4 million
- Lincoln $7.2 million
- Skyfall $7 million
- Life of Pi $5.4 million
- The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 $5.2 million
- Wreck-It Ralph $3.3 million
- Playing for Keeps $3.2 million
- Red Dawn $2.4 million
- Silver Linings Playbook $2.1 million
