NewsWAR OF THE DEAD is basically Nazi zombies the movie
When video games think of World War II and Nazis, often zombies are attached to this image. At the forefront of this vision stands the Wolfenstein and Call of Duty franchises. Zombies, after all, are the perfect video game opponent. They are both huge in numbers and you don’t feel a lick of pain mowing through them; this is of course if they aren’t someone you use to know.
Entertainment One has created a movie that encompasses this entire genre in a single feature length film. The movie WAR OF THE DEAD is a mashup of zombie / war film for your horror enjoyment. As Lithuania’s most expensive film ever, you know you’re getting quality. This film will be out on DVD for $19.98 and Blue-Ray / DVD combo for $24.98 on January 8th 2013. So if you survive the end of days you have this film to remind you JUST how lucky you are!
Here is a description of the film:
March 1941. Captain Martin Stone (Andrew Tiernan) is leading a finely-trained platoon of American soldiers on a mission to destroy an enemy bunker, joining forces with an elite platoon of Finnish soldiers led by Captain Niemi (Jouko Ahola) and Lieutenant Laasko (Mikko Leppilampi). Underestimating their enemy’s strength, they are quickly beaten back into the forest. As they try to regroup, they're suddenly attacked by the same soldiers they had just killed a few minutes earlier. Forced to flee deeper into Russian territory, they discover one of war’s most terrifying secrets and realize that they have woken up an enemy far deadlier than ever before imagined.
