NewsPS Vita firmware 2.0 update makes web browser a 'small app'
PlayStation Plus isn't the only new feature headed to the PS Vita with firmware update 2.0.
When the new update arrives tomorrow — according to Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida — it will also improve the handheld's web browser as well. According to Yoshida, update 2.0 makes the Vita's web browser a "small app" which means you won't have to quit games to use it.
Browsing the web will also be faster, Yoshida added.
In addition to the new web browser, tomorrow's update will add PlayStation Plus support. Starting next week, the Vita will have six titles that you'll be able to download for free to your Vita, assuming you already have a PS Plus subscription. Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Jet Set Radio HD, WipEout 2048,Gravity Rush and Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!, as well as the PSP game Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions will be available to download next week.
Other features include additional storage space and the ability to automatically start up and accept updates. For more information on System Software Updates, please visit this page, which will provide additional details on v2.00 when the update goes live.
