NewsCall of Duty: Black Ops 2 dominates UK sales charts
As expected, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is at the top of the UK sales charts. According to GfK Chart-Track, Black Ops 2's became the "biggest launch of 2012 and the 4th biggest of all time."
Of course, we already knew a lot of this based on the press releases from Activision. Last week it was revealed that Black Ops 2 had earned over $500 million in sales in just the first 24 hours.
Black Ops 2's new home at the top means last week's number one, Halo 4, fell to number two. FIFA 13 now sits at number three while Assassin's Creed 3 dropped to number four. Rounding out the top five is another Activision title, Skylanders: Giants.
With the success of Black Ops 2 the life-to-date sales for the Call of Duty franchise have now exceeded worldwide theatrical box office receipts for Harry Potter and Star Wars, the two most successful movie franchises of all time. The future is indeed black.
