Prior to launch, Halo 4 was easily one of the most anticipated games for Xbox 360. But how has it fared in its release? Although 343 Industries and Microsoft haven't shared any specific sales numbers, community manager Jessica "bs angel" Shea did give us a peek into the day one numbers of Halo 4.

"More people played Halo 4 in the first 24 hours than any other Halo launch day in history," she revealed.

"To say we’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our game would an understatement," she said on behalf of 343 Industries. "We’re humbled by your feedback and blown away by how many of you are spending significant amounts of time traversing our virtual battlefields."

"Thank you for playing our game and stay tuned for additional updates, because we have some amazing things planned for the future of Halo 4," she concluded.

Shea promised some more details on Monday, but that does give us a nice idea of the success Halo 4 has had early on.
