Jonatan Söderström, the creator of indie hit Hotline Miami, has reached out to pirates of his game, offering technical support even if they may not have purchased the game.

Söderström took to popular torrent website, The Pirate Bay, to offer advice with those struggling with bugs early on. Despite offering his help, Söderström admitted that while he doesn't want people to pirate Hotline Miami, "I understand if they do."

"I've been broke the last couple of months," he said on Twitter. "It sucks."

"I definitely want people to experience the game the way it's meant to be experienced," he added. "No matter how they got a hold of it."

Although I don't condone piracy, it's nice to see a developer offer support for those who do pirate the game. A lot of gamers defend the reason they pirate is to test out a game before purchasing it. Who knows, maybe Söderström's willingness to help with bugs, it might encourage people to go out and purchase the game.
