NewsMax Payne 3 'Hostage Negotiation Pack' detailed, Rockstar apologizes for delay
Rockstar has revealed the details for the next Max Payne 3 downloadable content, Hostage Negotiation Pack, while offering their apologies for the delay.
Initially due out in the summer, Hostage Negotiation is now loosely scheduled for release "later this fall". To make it up to fans who have been patient throughout the delay, Rockstar is releasing an all-new chrome weapons bonus, which will be redeemable by all Social Club members free of charge. More details about that will be announced later this week.
What was announced, however, was what exactly fans can expect when the Hostage Negotiation Pack releases. It will bring with it four new multiplayer maps along with a range of new items and weapons plus the Filhos De Ogum avatar faction.
The four maps are broken into two distinct flavors. The Club Moderno and Estádio Do Galatians maps are being designed to deliver "intense nightclub and stadium shootouts", while the O Palácio Strip Club and Favela Heights maps introduce new "favela territories from Max's descent into the gang-infested neighborhoods of the city."
New items like the Bomb Suit will protect you from explosive damage, while the Intimidation Mask item will cause slower reload times for your enemies. Two new weapons — the M24 Sniper Rifle and the IA2 Assault Rifle — are also included, as well as the new Explosive Burst for explosive booby traps.
Hostage Negotiation will be available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 or $9.99 on PS3 and PC. Rockstar Pass owners will, of course, receive it for free.
