Microsoft and 343 have released four new screenshots showing off the first mission of Halo 4. Although we've briefly seen gameplay clips of other levels in Halo 4's campaign, including a "pivotal" third mission shown off at the Eurogamer Expo, this is the first time we are seeing the campaign from the very beginning.

Titled "Dawn", the first level of the game begins with Master Chief awakening from cryo-sleep by Cortana, who notes that a Covenant fleet has just flown into view. The level seems very reminiscent of the very first Halo entry. In similar fashion, Master Chief makes his way through the ship's narrow corridors, while blasting through groups of Covenant ships who have boarded the ship.

The screenshots don't' spoil too much, but they do give you a nice glimpse of what to expect when you boot up Halo 4 for the first time on November 6.
