NewsThis Nintendo Zapper is a functioning laser pistol
This invention put together by the team at North Street Labs is either directly taken from one of my childhood fantasies or Captain N: The Game Master. These good folk have literally crafted a laser pistol out of the old Nintendo Zapper used in the class Duck Hunt. Yea, it’s about as cool as your thinking.
This isn’t some Maglite crammed into an old Zapper… this is the real deal. This gun fires a real laser capable of setting matches on fire and potential harming people like any of your favorite sci-fi movies. For some reason Bond’s Moonraker comes to mind.
The crafting schematic for this laser gun is something along the lines of:
- 445nm diode
- Batteries
- Wiring
- Hatred for Eggplant Wizards
- Nintendo Zapper
- Locking mechanism
- The desire to be awesome
This thing blows my mind and fills me with so much raw nostalgia that I could burst. Don’t pretend like I was the only one who held a Zapper decades ago and fantasied about it shooting real lasers. Don’t pretend like you’re better than me! Check out the video below to be amazed.
Pew pew.
