News'Inside Assassin's Creed 3' looks at the combat, weapons, and tactics of AC3
The second episode of "Inside Assassin's Creed 3", a four part series designed to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the development of Assassin's Creed 3, has been released today .
The new video takes an in-depth look at the combat, weapons, and tactics of Assassin's Creed 3. As the historians point out, the combat in the American Revolution was quite brutal, and as you'll see, the team had to recreate that brutality in Assassin's Creed 3.
Part of that brutality was caused by the type of weapons used. You'll learn about the different types of weapons used in the game, which ranges from the muskets to the bayonet to a hatchet. The new, fast-paced combat system also adds to that feeling of intense, brutal action.
The video also uncovers the "real world inspiration and gameplay innovation" behind Connor's all-new weaponry and combat system. It even looks at the guerilla tactics used by Connor to move behind enemy lines and pick off targets.
If you missed the previous video, part one of the series addressed some of Assassin's Creed 3's key pillars including the American Revolution and Colonial America setting, the new protagonist Connor, and the innovative AnvilNext game engine. The next episode of "Inside Assassin's Creed 3" will look at Connor, "the hero behind the war", who is fighting for freedom against tyranny.
