NewsUbisoft provides walkthrough of Assassin's Creed 3's naval warfare
Heading into Assassin's Creed 3, one of the major focuses has been on the game's all-new naval warfare feature.
Considered by some to be nothing more than a glorified version of the previously seen tower defense feature seen in prior Assassin's Creed games, the naval warfare in Assassin's Creed 3 aims to further immerse players in 18th century Colonial America as they fight for freedom and liberty against ruthless tyranny.
Powered by the AnvilNext game engine, we've already seen how Assassin's Creed 3 will simulate wind and water as you engage in epic sea battles. A trailer released at Gamescom showed off more of the naval combat, including hand-to-hand combat while on the open-sea, but a new video today takes a closer look at some of the naval gameplay and its features.
In today's video creative director Alex Hutchinson further details naval warfare, highlighting the cannons and ammunition used by Connor as he commands a naval warship through tumultuous waters and against enemy ships.
