News'Hunger Games' actor Alexander Ludwig joins cast of Navy Seal movie 'Lone Survivor'
The Navy SEAL film Lone Survivor added another actor to its already impressive cast. Former The Hunger Games actor Alexander Ludwig (Cato, the male Tribute of District 2) has signed on to play the role of Navy SEAL Shane Patton in Lone Survivor.
Lone Survivor is being directed by Peter Berg and is an adaptation of the Marcus Luttrell book. He joins Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch, Eric Bana and Ben Foster. Lone Survivor is a true account of Marcus Luttrell, a former Navy SEAL. It is based on a failed 2005 SEAL Team 10 mission "Operation Red Wing" where they were tasked to capture or kill a Taliban leader. After being ambushed in Afghanistan, Marcus Luttrell was the only member of the team to survive.
Director Peter Berg is best known for the Friday Night Lights tv series, Battleship, and Hancock.
Ludwig should fit in nicely with a group of actors currently signed on. Time to read the book in preparation for the movie, which is still in pre-production.
