NewsCognition trailer is mysterious, has style
I'm digging this resurgence of adventure games. Seriously, this classic genre can provide some incredibly memorable moments if enough care and hard work is put into developing the right games. It seems we've got another PC adventure game on the horizon, and it looks like it could be a winner.
Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller follows the titular character, an FBI agent based in Boston, as she searches for clues to the murder of her brother. But Erica isn't your average detective. She's got the ability to touch objects and sense their past. You know what that means: crazy mysterious stuff is going down!
Cognition will feature a myriad puzzles and multiple paths, and you'll have to make different decisions along your journey in order to get the answers Erica is desperately seeking. The game really looks like it could be another stellar hit in this adventure game revival of sorts.
Adding to the potentially awesome gameplay is a sick cel-shaded art style. Everything looks nice and polished, and if the game plays as good as it looks, there's no doubt that Cognition will be an adventure game to watch out for.
More info will be released at PAX Prime later this month, so stay tuned for that. And keep a lookout for Cognition this fall.
