NewsAssassin's Creed 3's Naval combat shown off in new Gamescom trailer
Since its reveal, Ubisoft has boasted about Assassin's Creed 3's new naval combat system. Today, they released a new trailer giving skeptics, who believe it to be nothing but a glorified version of the previously seen tower defense feature, a new look at how naval combat will play out when Assassin's Creed 3 releases later this year.
Powered by the AnvilNext game engine, naval warfare in Assassin's Creed 3 will expose players to tumultuous waters and powerful winds as they captain their own naval warship.
The naval combat isn't just about destroying enemy ships with cannon fire. As you'll see in the trailer, there will be plenty of times for Connor to display his hand-to-hand combat as he leads his crew against the enemy in the open-sea.
Sea combat is just one of the many new features in Assassin's Creed 3 to help immerse you in 18th century Colonial America, fighting for freedom and liberty against ruthless tyranny.
Assassin's Creed 3 is due out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 30, 2012. It will also be available for Wii U although no release date has been announced. Ubisoft, last week, finally announced that the PC version of the game will launch on November 20th.
