A new trailer from Ubisoft is giving gamers a look at AnvilNext, the new game engine that brings Colonial America to life in the new Assassin's Creed 3.

This radically redesigned game engine, which "renders seamless worlds of nearly infinite possibility", delivers "unprecedented realism and a revamped combat system" that looks to offer Assassin's Creed 3 players the most intense and vivid Assassin's Creed  experience to date.

Thanks to advancements in the AnvilNext game engine you will meet and interact with diverse characters in the colonies and encounter up to 2,000 nonplayer characters in a single sequence - a new high for Assassin's Creed.

Connor, the new protagonist in Assassin's Creed 3, benefits greatly from this new game engine. With over 1,000 new animations, Connor will navigate through the wild with "precision and fluidity". Using new combat maneuvers unique to Assassin's Creed 3, Connor's Native American heritage and ability to dual-wield traditional weapons like the tomahawk makes him the most complex and technically advanced assassin to date.

In addition to land combat, you will take to the high seas in Assassin's Creed 3 as you engage in epic sea battles where the AnvilNext will simulate wind and water.

In short, Assassin's Creed 3 looks like it is going to be amazing thanks, in part, to the revolutionary AnvilNext game engine. Check out the trailer above for a more in-depth and visual look at the AnvilNext.

Assassin's Creed 3 is set to release on October 30 for PS3 and Xbox 360. A Wii U version of the game still doesn't have an exact release date, but a new list of leaked Wii U launch titles confirm Assassin's Creed 3 will be released for Nintendo's new console during the "holiday" window. A PC version of the game is also expected to launch "before Christmas".
