Madden NFL 13 pre-orders up 25%

EA must be doing something right when it comes to Madden NFL 13. Despite complaints that it's the "same game" year in and year out, gamers and football enthusiasts still seem to be flocking to it; at least, that's what the early numbers seem to indicate.

As part of their Q1 FY13 financial results report, EA revealed that pre-orders for Madden NFL 13 are up 25% year-over-year. While that may not directly translate into an overall sales increase when the game launches, it's nice to see fans are excited for another installment of Madden.

And this year, EA is doing something different when it comes to their game by letting fans help determine specific attributes of players at key positions. As part of their player overall reveal process, EA is letting fans vote on which NFL players "epitomize attributes like speed, elusiveness, hit power, and more". The player with the most votes will be the highest-rated player for that specific attribute at their position. Players will vote on four main positions: QB, RB, WR, and Defense.

Each week EA will reveal the top 10 rated players at a position and open up the voting for that position's attributes. At the end of the week a winner will be crowned and the overall of all players at that position will be announced.

This week is quarterbacks and EA has already revealed the top 10 QBs in Madden NFL 13.
