In the jungle, you must wait, 'til the dice read five or eight. It's been about 17 years, but it looks like we're finally unleashing a new Jumanji movie.

The 1995 film, starring Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst, about a magical board game that makes wild animals and other jungle hazard appear upon each player's move could be getting a reboot.

Speaking to THR, Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad dropped the news that they are not only looking to reboot the film, but modernize it as well.

"We're going to try and reimagine Jumanji and update it for the present," he said.

He explained the idea behind it follows Michael Lynton's mandate to "do more in the family space".

I think we've seen this before. It was called Zathura: A Space Adventure, and it flopped in the box office. Look, I loved Jumanji, but a reboot is not necessary.

How do they plan on replacing Robin Williams as Alan, a man who emerges from the game's jungle world? What about David Alan Grier as Carl Bentley!? That guy was freaking awesome!
