NewsSCE bids farewell to Kaz Hirai with a custom PS3
Sony Computer Entertainment said goodbye to Kaz Hirai last night as he bid farewell to Sony's PlayStation division and his duty as president and CEO of Sony Corporation as a whole. Hirai is moving on to bigger and better things with Sony.
Before his departure, SCE threw him a goodbye party and showered him with gifts. SCE president Shuhei Yoshida, who attended the event, posted pictures on his Twitter account showing Hirai receiving a bouquet of flowers along with something that will make gamers extremely jealous: a custom, one-of-a-kind PS3.
As his final departure gift, Hirai was gifted with a specially-designed custom PlayStation 3 console, colored white and red wine. And before you ask, no it isn't for sale.
"A special PS3 custom made for Kaz", commented Yoshida. "Not for sale."
While Hirai is stepping down as representative director and chairman, he will still retain a part-time seat on the Board.
