NewsBattlefield 3 Premium surpasses 800,000 subscribers
Battlefield 3 Premium, EA's premium content service for Battlefield 3, has more than 800,000 members. EA reached the milestone in just the first two weeks of Premium's availability, making the possibility of a similar services in the future "very promising".
"We are very pleased with the performance so far," EA Games executive vice president Patrick Soderlund told USA Today. "We're actually only two weeks into it, so it's a little early to tell how this is going to pay off. It certainly it looks very promising right now."
Battlefield 3 Premium was announced during E3 and is available for a one-time payment of $49.99. Its features include all five Battlefield 3 expansion packs with early access guaranteed to all future add-ons, exclusive in-game items, extra Double XP events, new dog tags, and tons more features.
The service launched one week early on PlayStation 3, due to an exclusive deal with Sony, before expanding to the Xbox 360 and PC. Battlefield 3's Close Quarters add-on was released earlier this month and, moving forward, EA has plans to release Armored Kill (September), Aftermath (December), and End Game in March 2013.
